League of Women Voters of Illinois
The League of Women Voters of Illinois (LWVIL), is a nonpartisan, grassroots political organization comprised of 43 local Leagues throughout Illinois. It is one of the state's most visible and trusted civic organizations. Through its efforts, LWVIL encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
We are a political, but non-partisan, organization dedicated to researching questions of public policy from several viewpoints. The League does not support or oppose any political party or candidate.
The League of Women Voters of Illinois is governed by a Board of Directors composed of League members from across Illinois and the staff is managed by an Executive Director. The state League is supported by member dues and by the donations of individuals, foundations and corporations. Its office is located in Chicago, Illinois.
