  • About Us

As one of Toronto’s longest-running homes for young pregnant and parenting women, Humewood House is sustained by its devoted and resourceful staff and community. We are focused on empowering young pregnant and parenting women to make positive life choices for themselves; changing the future of their children. Our vision is to build a city where all our children are prosperous.

Through the residential, counselling, high school, daycare, and transitional housing programs and services, we provide a refuge from social isolation, food insecurity and violence for young women and their babies. The young women in the programs are between 13 and 21 years old. They come from a variety of cultural, educational, and social backgrounds and they face risks and barriers to having a healthy and safe pregnancy.
