Jogja Orangutan Centre

Yogyakarta Nature Conservation Foundation (YKAY) is nonprofit organization that move on natural conservation and registered at Justice and Human Rights Ministry of Republic Indonesia no AHU-1944.AH.01.04, year 2010.

YKAY also legalited as one of Conservation Institution with form is Animal Park by Forestry Ministry of Republic Indonesia (Number SK.255/Menhut-12/2011) .

Our main programme are rescue and rehabilitate the wild animals and release them to the nature. But for unreleaseable animals, YKAY placed them in the sanctuary for education purpose as living book. Most of the animals are protected by Indonesia Law and take from the illegal owners or trading by government officers.

YKAY has a plan to build giant domes for unreleaseable orangutans which will be looks like orangutan natural habitat. This project name is Jogja Orangutan Centre.

To cover all operational cost , YKAY do fundraising by offering conservation education programme, outbound, donation, adoption, voluntary programme and rent facilities.
