About Us

CAIR-Chicago is a local office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). CAIR is the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights organization and was established to promote an accurate image of Islam and Muslims in America.

CAIR-Chicago’s mission is to defend civil rights, fight bigotry, and promote tolerance. CAIR-Chicago works to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.

CAIR-Chicago offers internship opportunities for college students, graduate students, law students, and volunteers throughout the year in our Civil Rights, Communications, Government Affairs, Operations, Outreach, and Research teams.
