Fresh Roots transforms urban spaces into thriving gathering places through urban agriculture. More than growing a garden, we grow community.
We collaborate with organizations like the Vancouver School Board to grow schoolyard market gardens. All produce grown is distributed through our Good Food Markets and featured at school cafeterias. We host classes, fieldtrips, workshops, and summer programs for neighbours, students, and teachers to engage first hand with their food and community. We are community-engaged farmers: sharing our knowledge of food systems and helping people experience vegetables growing first-hand. Our market gardens are neighbourhood food assets – a place of connection for people across cultures and generations.
