  • About Us

About: Marginal Mind Matters (Margins) is a registered not-for-profit company working to help the marginalized cope with their social exclusion through self-help and support groups.

Background: Marginalization is the chronic state of social exclusion. It forces people into poverty, violence, and insecurity. The marginalized struggle with feelings of shame, inferiority, and rejection. These feelings keep them trapped in a cycle of despair.

Mission: Margins is of the view that if the marginalized can face their feelings of social exclusion and replace those feelings with feelings of confidence and self-worth they will be able to escape social exclusion and access the opportunities that were denied them in the past. Margins approach is threefold:

    • Self-help: Margins helps the marginalized cope with their feelings of social exclusion through its two free online programs; 1) the Margins journal program, and 2) the Margins 8 Steps to Self-Awareness program.
    • Support Groups: Margins encourages communities of support through; 1) Margins Journal Circles, and 2) Margins Self-Awareness Sponsor Program.
    • Self-Expression: Margins encourages the marginalized to express their feelings of social exclusion through; poetry, storytelling, music, and art.
