  • About Us

Halton Women’s Place (HWP) is the only shelter in the Halton Region for women and their children fleeing abusive relationships, operating 2 shelters, one in Burlington and one in Milton. We provide free, safe shelter that is nonjudgmental and supportive. We offer free residential and nonresidential counseling services, including 24hour telephone crisis support. We provide recreational services for children and youth while in our shelter. Halton Women’s Place provides transitional support services to help women establish a network of supports, and find/maintain housing. Finally, we are dedicated to ending violence against women and children, and have committed to providing public education to children and youth about healthy relationships and fostering a safer community.

    Mission Statement:

Halton Women’s Place will provide a safe haven, information, and education to support a future without abuse for women and their children.
