  • About Us

Ayuda is a 100% volunteer-administered, registered Guatemalan charity. Our mission is the humane reduction of unwanted dogs and cats living around Lake Atitlan. Donation based sterlization clinics are held every week in one of four major municipalities in our region: Panajachel, Santa Cruz La Laguna, San Pedro La Laguna, and San Andres Semetabaj.

The standard package of services during these clinics include: surgery, combo vaccination, broad-spectrum de-wormer, and a flea/tick treatment.

Second to our primary mission is to assist as many abandoned animals find homes. Rather than operate a shelter, we continue to develop our foster care network and practice CTRM (Catch Treat Release Maintain) with roaming community animals.
