Shambhala Meditation Center of Seattle

  • About Us

The Seattle Shambhala Meditation Center is a vibrant Buddhist sangha (meditation community) with a warm approach to the study and practice of meditation. We provide instruction in mindfulness-awareness meditation for beginners and for experienced practitioners, and a variety of evening and weekend programs and group meditation sessions.

We are a predominantly white sangha with an explicit focus on increasing the diversity and inclusive practices of the center, and with a range of targeted meditation groups for people who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, younger meditators, in recovery, families and children, etc. We also are open to people of different cultural backgrounds and languages, regardless of their immigration status.

The Shambhala teachings offer a way to extend our personal transformation for the benefit of society as a whole. We discover the wisdom, sanity and goodness within our seemingly complex and chaotic minds, and the inherent goodness in the world around us.
