  • Mission

We were founded 35 years ago to preserve historic structures in San Jose. We are dedicated to preserving our unique and diverse architectural and cultural heritage. Through advocacy, education, and civic engagement, we promote historic preservation as an essential tool for fostering equitable, distinctive, sustainable and prosperous communities, We believe historic preservation is good for our quality of life , good for business, and good for the environment.

    About Us

We have been hosting rummage sales for the past 33 years as a major source of funds for our non profit. We now lease a 5000 sq ft. warehouse near SAP Center, San Jose, which allows us to sell donations to continue our mission of sustainability and reuse. Our new thrift store is staffed by volunteers except one store manager. We are open Saturdays from 11-6 but will expand hours soon.

We study land use proposals and comment on development issues using legal and civic methods to bring light to the public. We advocate by attending and speaking at City meetings, hold educational sessions about land use, write grants to fund projects for saving neon signs, and moving historic buildings. We focus on San Jose but have supported grass roots issues in Saratoga and Palo Alto, etc.
