About Us

The Little Blue House has a single core mission: to help under supported families in the District of Columbia. LBH believes in building safe, stable family environments for children. LBH programs are designed to identify families in need of assistance before there is a crisis, and address the gaps between the family needs and services currently available to families in Washington DC. Our clients – parents and youth – as well as funders, colleagues, and the public can be sure that the role we play in the community is meaningful, productive, and worthy of reciprocal energy and dedication. The purpose of the LBH Family Development Program is to create successful opportunities for youth and parents and building lasting support systems. We offer a combination of needed social work assistance, early childhood services, parenting education, mental health services, youth mentoring services, and socialization activities in our neighborhood to help parents and youth maintain self sufficiency.
