Ananda Center at Laurelwood is a place where people can become, on every level—heart, mind, body, and spirit—more balanced, mature, effective, harmonious, and happy; where learning and joy come together.

Ananda Laurelwood provides a home for educational programs based in all aspects of life with emphasis on experiential learning, spiritual development, sustainable community building, health and healing and the development of practical skills for living such as cooperation, concentration, self-discipline, wisdom, compassion and inner peace. Education for Life is a philosophy of holistic education, based on universal principles taught by the great Indian yoga master Paramhansa Yogananda and Ananda's founder Swami Kriyananda, which guides decisions and activities on the campus. Students of Ed for Life learn to work with emotions and moods, to nurture an inner life, to love the world of ideas, to ask questions, and to be original thinkers.

Our campus, located in a beautiful pastoral setting, 25 miles west of Portland, OR, is home to Ananda College,a private, state-approved liberal arts college offering "higher education for higher consciousness," focusing on holistic education, universal spirituality and personalized learning. The college offers B.A. and A.A. degrees and certificates.Ananda College programs include Yoga Teacher Training & Yoga Philosophy (Certified by Yoga Alliance), Education for Life Teacher Training, Cooperative Communities & Sustainability, Holistic Health and Healing Training.

The Ananda Center at Laurelwood also provides programs, retreats, internships and facilities for individuals and groups of all ages, spiritual paths and backgrounds in program areas that align with and support our mission, such as Permaculture/Agriculture, Conscious Construction, Leadership, Business and Success, Primary, Secondary and Higher Education, Nutrition and Vegetarian Cooking, Health and Healing, Art and Creativity, Music, Yoga, Meditation and Spiritual Growth.
