Chicktime TX- San Antonio Southtown

Chicktime San Antonio Southtown was inspired to launch our chapter to partner with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library literally within 24 hours of learning about the opportunity to get FREE BOOKS in the hands of eligible children.

As a past teacher, life-long learner/reader, mother of three and grandmother of five I see the JOY of books and the benefits of reading every single day.

Prevention is the absolute best tool in stoping abuse and neglect in our world and while we can’t do everything we can all do something. Arming children with a passion for reading will go a long way in empowering their sense of resiliency and belief they can have hope and overcome! As a survivor of child abuse/neglect I cannot imagine where my life would be without books. It is such a blessing to know there is a simple tool we can use to get FREE BOOKS in the hands of every eligible child and that is what we aim to do in the city of San Antonio through Chicktime Southtown! We have set up pop up reading centers with Healy Murphy Child Care Center. Volunteers read to the children and help the parents sign up for free books.
