Franciscan Mission Service
Franciscan Mission Service helps lay Catholics prepare to serve on two-year international, one-year domestic and 1-2 week short-term mission opportunities. Just as St. Francis and Clare responded to God’s call in their time, those in FMS programs follow the call today to walk with the people who are poor, oppressed, or marginalized in Africa, Latin America, North America and the Caribbean. After completing an FMS program, alumni utilize their life-changing experience for the good of North American Church and society.
As Franciscan followers of Christ, we build partnerships with Catholic women and men who are inspired to live and serve in solidarity with economically poor communities across the globe -- and to bring the transformative experience of mission to North American societies and churches as advocates for peace, justice, reconciliation and care of creation.

Placements include: medical clinics, school meal programs, women’s cooperatives, arts and crafts, agriculture, educational and emotional support at shelters for those abandoned and abused, bible study and non-violence training, English classes, and tutoring are just a few of the options. We exclusively partner with religious Franciscans in mission.
