MIRACLE FOOD NETWORK INC

  • Mission

To interrupt, intercept, intercede, convert, and distribute food surplus and waste to transform and impact lives in communities that face hunger, poverty and other life altering crises.

    About Us

Miracle Food Network (aka MFN) has been daily collecting surplus food "ready to eat" from commercial kitchens in restaurants, retirement homes, caterers, grocery stores and others to repackage and distribute to destinations close to food insecure and disadvantaged communities. We use food to connect disconnected people. We do this all with volunteers 5-6 days a week from underutilized kitchens wherever they can be found. Our distribution drops are often identified by the Free and Reduced Lunch demographics from Public School Districts as well as Faith-Based organizations. MFN started small in 2018 running food donor routes that generated about 25-30,000 lbs of food per year. Since Covid, we are moving over 50,000 lbs per month at a single location and plan to replicate our decentralized distribution model in the era of Social Distancing and Shelter in Place. MFN is successful in moving large quantities of food to people in isolation and demand is increasing exponentially to do more.
