  • Mission

    Medicare Assistance Program (MAP) provides free, unbiased Medicare information and counseling. Our mission at MAP is to empower, educate, and assist Medicare-eligible individuals and pre-enrollees, their families and caregivers to make informed insurance decisions that optimize access to care and benefits. MAP also provides awareness to prevent, detect, and report healthcare fraud, errors, and abuse.

    About Us

    MAP was previously know in Nevada as the SHIP and SMP programs. We have now combined both programs into MAP! MAP aims to assists beneficiaries in making informed decisions in their healthcare. MAP Counselors assist with Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage information and enrollment, understanding Medicare options, reporting potential healthcare fraud, errors, or abuse, and application assistance for low-income programs including Extra Help and Medicare Saving Programs. MAP assists beneficiaries in Carson, Churchill, Douglas, Elko, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing, Storey, Washoe, and White Pine counties.

    In 2024, MAP assisted 5,584 beneficiaries with their Medicare needs, reached 17,449 persons through outreach events, and have saved beneficiaries $1,755,558.64 by helping them change their prescription plans!
