Citizens for Environmental Safety (CENVIS)

to empower local people with knowledge on environmental issues and sustainable livelihood.

CitizensforEnvironmental Safety(CENVIS) was registered with the Cross River State Government as a community based Non-Governmental Organization in1998.The organization is more than 25 years old so also is its project management team. Since 1999 CENVIS has been supported by Rainforest Action Network (RAN) San Francisco, USA ,Global Greengrants Fund (GGF) Boulder, CO, USA, Aid to Artisans,USA ,Environment Rights Action(ERA) Nigeria ,NGO Coalition for Environment(NGOCE) Nigeria to carry out community based programmes on Sustainable Forest Management; grassroots training on use of Non Timber Forest Products (NTFP); Campaign against illegal logging in Cross River State and development of Gnetum Africanum farm at local Communities of Cross River State for the community dwellers amongst others.
