STEMAP (STEM Ambassador Program)
About Us
The STEM Ambassador Program (STEMAP) is a public engagement training program funded by the National Science Foundation to guide scientists to draw on their research, personal interests, and experiences to expand public access to science. Scientists participate in a semester-long training where they identify a community to engage, deepen their knowledge of the community, design an engagement project based on what they’ve learned, and implement the project in the community’s gathering spaces. Previous engagement projects have taken place in diverse community venues, including senior centers, local businesses, correctional facilities, and public parks.
