Kigamboni Community Centre

Kigamboni Community Centre supports disadvantaged children and youth in Kigamboni, Tanzania, by providing:

• A pre-school English programme
• Nursery Education
• Primary Education to support children who have fallen out of the sytem, back into mainstream education
• Extra tuition to children in primary schools
• A Vocational Training programme
• Arts and sports programmes including acrobatics, traditional dance, modern dance, music, drama, art, handcrafts, football and netball
• A range of support to homeless children

All programmes are run by volunteers from the local community.

The Community Centre also runs a number of small commerical enterprises. These enterprises support the Vocational Training programme and allow the centre to provide higher standards of employment in the area, whilst helping it to meet the core costs of its work in the community.
