About Us

YMCA Transitions program is designed to assist moderate to high functioning young adults, age 18-23, in King County who are in foster care or who have been in out-of-home placement at some time during their adolescence, and who need assistance in maintaining stable housing and developing independent living skills.

Mission: The YMCA Transitions program uses creativity, flexibility, safety and support as tools to foster resiliency and independence in young adults. Supportive staff and volunteers listen and offer choices and learning opportunities to young adults who use their strengths to move to self-sufficiency and create positive futures.
