About Us

Camp Kinderland is a children's summer camp founded in 1923 that teaches peace, social justice, human rights, and social activism. It has progressive, secular Jewish roots and a multicultural program. Children and staff celebrate community and social activism, taking responsibility for their common world in camp and outside of camp life. Some of the issues we have covered in the past few years have been peace, youth activism, labor, women, gay rights, Holocaust and resistance, anti-death penalty work. We have had guests each summer like Pete Seeger, Howard Zinn, Charlie King, various teachers, activists, and artists. We also have a GREAT time. We are always seeking new families, and people ages 18 and over to work on our staff as cabin counselors and specialists in arts, crafts, nature, drama, waterfront, sports, recreation. We are a loving, thinking, friendly, intense, and activist community and we welome you.
