FLOATING MUSEUM NFP
Mission
Floating Museum is a collaborative arts organization that creates temporary, site-responsive museum spaces to activate sites of cultural potential throughout Chicago’s neighborhoods.
We engage local artists, historians, and organizations in events that challenge traditional museum thinking and generate community engagement and conversation.
About Us
Our Summer River Float is designed to be a joyful celebration of the rich cultural development happening across Chicago’s neighborhoods, and one that fully embraces the energy of Chicago in the summertime. This energy does not die out after this summer, however, nor is it confined to our river float. Our mission as an organization is to nurture deep engagement with our communities and focus on mutually beneficial, sustainable partnerships with both local organizations and larger cultural institutions
