  • About Us

    Experience Corps of Washington DC utilizes the services of older adults (55+) to tutor children in DC public schools. Tutors help students in grades K-3 with basic reading skills (5 hours a week). Classroom assistants provide attention to struggling students in a classroom and tutor as well (16 hours a week, stipended). Volunteers work in teams while site coordinators manage each site. No prior teaching experience is needed. Reading curriculum training is provided. Older adults can share their experience,learn new skills, help youth and community, and make new friends.
