MetroWest YMCA -- Framingham, Massachusetts
For nearly 40 years, the MetroWest YMCA has provided programs and services to meet the needs of the diverse and growing population in the communities west of Boston.
Some of the programs we offer at our facilities in Framingham, Hopkinton, and the Program Center at the Civic League are: preschool and school-age child care summer day camp swimming lessons and water safety classes youth sports and recreation programs community outreach programs for teens (High Flight, Teen Night) environmental education programs/challenge courses health and fitness programs Every day we continue to work hard at our business of “building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.”
Our programs have had a positive impact on both individuals and the communities we serve in so many ways. Not only do YMCA programs teach new skills, develop self-confidence, promote healthy lifestyles, and provide important day care, fitness and recreational opportunities for thousands of people; they also help to develop strong character and teach positive values like caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
As part of its mission, the MetroWest YMCA is dedicated to serving all people regardless of their ability to pay. Every year, the MetroWest YMCA provides scholarships for camp, subsidies for day care, and reduced rates for memberships to people who do not have the financial resources to pay for these services themselves. In 1999 the MetroWest YMCA provided more than 1,100 people with financial assistance that enabled them to participate in our programs.
