Center for Rural Strategies (Daily Yonder & Rural Assembly)

About Us

Rural Strategies formed in 2001 by veterans of the fields of community arts, media, and journalism, to influence broad public discourse in ways redirect national attentiveness to rural issues and create a platform for advocating change. Our purpose rests on the belief that change is cultural and that honesty is essential. We are not seeking to chisel Veritas in granite, rather we are trying to be honest brokers, to advance accurate portraits of rural life and work that come from what we see and experience. We are attempting to build a community of trusted practitioners, people who want to work together across perceived borders and geographic divides. We work at all levels--from the local to the national and international--to identify partners and opportunities to advance narratives of inclusion, belonging and interdependence.
