Innovative Community Resources NC Inc is a non-profit organization committed to preventing and ending homelessness and poverty in Mecklenburg County.

To make our mission a reality, we provide payee, financial literacy and budget counseling services to homeless and low-income individuals.

This past summer, ICR joined a federal initiative known as SOAR (SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access and Recovery) which helps the chronically homeless complete social security applications faster. Instead of waiting one to two years, SOAR clients can begin to receive SSI/SSDI benefits in as little as two months. These benefits open the door to stable housing, food, medical care, substance abuse counseling and other support services.
