On Our Own of Prince George's County is a friendly place. Our center provides support from peers that understand you and have common goals. Living with a mental illness is a challenge, but you do not have to recover alone. On Our Own of Prince George's County provides a safe environment for meeting individuals who understand you.

We are a peer-run outreach and support organization that provides training, education, referrals, special events, and social activities for adults with mental illness in Prince George's County.

Established in 1990, On Our Own of Prince Georges County utilizes the clubhouse model where member contribute to the governance and operation of the organization.

The goal is to build the strengths of each individual and the group.

On Our Own of Prince George's County views every member as a potential advocate for the reduction of stigma and social inequality for sufferers of mental disorders.

It provides living examples of individuals who have managed their illnesses, and strives to present positive images of mental health consumers to the public.

We offer Hope, information and opportunity to those that have mental health concerns. We promote self-advocacy within the community by being active and keeping each other informed about issues that concern individuals with mental illness and also the community as a whole. We offer workshops and activities on wellness, recovery, arts & crafts, self-esteem, Anti-Stigma, daily living, fun field trips and giving back to the community.
