The Big Brothers Big Sisters Mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Through our work, children reach their potential in mentoring relationships that have a measurable impact on youth. Our vision is successful mentoring relationships for all children who need and want them, contributing to brighter futures, better schools, and stronger communities for all.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County, NY (BBBSOC) seeks to prevent negative behaviors among youth-at-risk that lead to contact with the juvenile justice system. This goal is achieved by accomplishing specific outcomes after one year of mentoring. The outcomes are based on well-established protective factors that can increase a youth’s chance of staying in school and becoming productive citizens increasing the overall well-being of our communities.
