  • About Us

The Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation was founded in 2008 to center the margin, creating and supporting strategies to reach gender and racial equity. We focus on intersectional feminism, improving the lives of women, girls, and gender expansive individuals, and promoting educational equity for all community members. The Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation awards grants to nonprofit organizations primarily in Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties (the tribal lands of the Amah Mutsun, Ohlone, Chalon, Awaswas, and Esselen nations), occasionally in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area, and organizations and programs with statewide impact across California or national impact across the US. We fund solutions for each of the barriers that women, girls, and gender-expansive individuals face. The Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation believes that intersectionality is an essential principle in our grant-making, and we intentionally prioritize women of color throughout all our funding areas. More information about the Foundation can be found at http://baskinfoundation.org/.
