About Us

Ten Thousand Villages in Fredericksburg provides vital, fair income to people in developing countries by marketing their handicrafts and telling their stories in North America.

Ten Thousand Villages works with artisans who would otherwise be unemployed or under-employed. This income helps pay for food, education, health care or housing. Ten Thousand Villages is a nonprofit program of Mennonite Central Committee, a relief, service and peace agency of the North American Mennonite and Brethren in Christ churches.

Ten Thousand Villages is a member of the International Fair Trade Association (IFAT) and the Fair Trade Federation, U.S.

Our Fredericksburg store offers a distinctive selection of fairly traded handcrafts, jewelry, personal accessories, musical instruments, home decor, coffee and art from around the world.
