  • Mission

    The Consumer Assistance Council, Inc. ("CAC") works with the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office to assist and educate consumers and businesses about consumer rights and consumer protection laws. The CAC ensures that consumer transactions are conducted in a fair and equitable manner and that ethical merchants are protected from unjustified complaints. To bring about these objectives, CAC focuses on consumer-related activities, including but not limited to providing educational outreach programs held at venues supplied by local groups throughout the assigned geographical area, and offering sound consumer advice and counsel to individuals requesting same in a timely and efficient manner. Finally, CAC 's staff, with the exception of the Executive Director, is entirely volunteer. These fully trained volunteers are here because they have a passion for consumer advocacy and consumer rights.

    About Us

    The CAC is a non-profit organization working in conjunction with the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office in response to consumer complaints. We are consumer watchdogs who fight to protect consumers from being ripped off, by a local, national or international businesses. We help people who are having disputes relating to auto repairs, home improvements, appliance problems, cell phone and cable bills, a nd many other types of transactions. We are a totally free service and have saved consumers of Cape Cod and the Islands hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.
