About Us
The Restorative Center is a grassroots organization with a focus on creating the structure and space for communities to activate their ability to work together toward their own well-being. With roots in Newburgh, N.Y. and the Bronx, TRC explores non-hierarchal structures and the basic concept of storytelling to invite people to be together in new ways. Shailly Agnihotri, an attorney with 20 years of experience, founded TRC with the intention of creating a social foundation for building alternatives to the traditional adversarial approach to conflict resolution. We envision a future in which the majority of issues currently routed through the criminal justice system and family court are resolved by the communities in which those issues arise.
