  • Mission

Charleys Kids Foundation partners with local and international programs that empower kids through: education, food, and mentoring.

    About Us

The Charleys Kids Foundation was inspired by CEO Charley Shin’s first visit to Peru, where he encountered impoverished children. Moved by their dire situation, he established Charleys Kids to help needy children. Our first partner was Casa Hogar Orphanage, based in Arequipa, Peru. Today, Charleys Kids supports programs across the United States, Cambodia, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Lebanon, Peru, Thailand.

The Columbus Tutoring Initiative (CTI) is a venture of Charleys Kids Foundation to provide in-school tutoring for elementary-age students whose reading skills fall below their grade level. CTI has worked in partnership with churches, businesses, and organizations to serve over 1500 Central Ohio elementary school students since 2004.

CTI screens and equips volunteers to work one-on-one with students who need extra literacy practice and the support of a caring, trustworthy adult.
