Correlates of Human Trafficking Project

Boston, MA

  • About Us

Our mission is to build a diverse research community focused on identifying and understanding the correlates within human trafficking and modern slavery.

CHTP aims to develop a comprehensive, publicly available database of research papers and resources in order to provide an in-depth analysis of the correlates of trafficking on a global scale. The goal of the project is to bridge the existing policy-gap by providing advocates, governments, and organizations with research and policy guidance in an attempt to bring human trafficking to an end.

The issues of contemporary slavery and human trafficking necessitate an interdisciplinary research approach. The CHTP will seek to identify points of linkage within and between different kinds of human trafficking and contributing social and economic phenomena in order to identify correlates from a holistic perspective. Our research will rely on analysis and data sets from discrete academic disciplines and policy resources including, but not limited to:

    • International Relations
    • Clinical Social Work
    • Criminology
    • Conflict Resolution
    • Economics
    • Law
    • Social Psychology
    • Political Science
    • Business/Finance
