Promote Sustainability's mission is to address global warming, by using promotional events and tools to speed the adoption of renewable energy and other sustainability practices.

First Project

An outstanding Solar Rose Parade Float will broadly promote use of renewable solar energy as part of the New Year's 2017 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California. The float can help accelerate adoption of renewable solar energy by presenting a simple, entertaining and emotionally engaging message.

"Airing nationally to an audience of more than 50 million viewers," the Rose Parade is also broadcast in more than 170 countries. The Tournament of Roses Association thus describes the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game, noting they are "a celebration more than a century old - a festival of flowers, music and sports unequaled anywhere else in the world."

The Solar Rose Parade Float needs to stand out as one of the major entries in the parade. It's anticipated that far more benefit can be obtained per dollar invested if the float is an absolutely first rate undertaking. The flower covered float will be designed in the early months of 2016, once the Tournament of Roses Association announces a theme for the 2017 parade.

Estimated dollar benefits substantially exceed the estimated costs for the float project. A reduction in greenhouse gas emissions will be achieved through increased awareness, resulting in earlier installation of solar energy systems.

Promote Sustainability is a new nonprofit charitable corporation, which will manage all aspects of parade float funding, planning, construction and operation.

A dedicated website will present the Solar Rose Parade Float vision, coordinate ideas, accept donations, and track progress.

Creating the solar rose parade float requires project organization, funding, float design, float construction, a project calendar and risk mitigation. Collection of meaningful performance data will help enable future promotion projects.
