  • About Us

For more than 50 years, the Cabrillo Festival has been a preeminent force in the orchestral field, nationally and internationally, and an integral part of the cultural fabric of Santa Cruz County. Each August, Music Director/Conductor Marin Alsop is joined in Santa Cruz by professional orchestra players, renowned guest artists, and composers from across the globe, for two weeks filled with open rehearsals, concerts, a conductors/composers professional training workshop, myriad educational programs, community and family events, and the Church Street Fair. The Festival has created a unique paradigm for the presentation of concert music, is a leading commissioner of new works, and has fostered a vibrant and committed audience impassioned by our mission. Events take place at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium and Mission San Juan Bautista.
