Jubilee Housing, Inc.
Jubilee Housing provides safe, quality affordable rental housing to low-income families and individuals in the Adams-Morgan neighborhood of Washington, DC.
Jubilee Housing was founded in 1973 when volunteers from an ecumencial church, the Church of the Saviour, witnessed that working families were being forced out of their homes. This group purchased and renovated two neglected apartment buildings in order to preserve the homes of its tenants. Today, Jubilee Housing operates eight buildings and houses more than 850 individuals.
Jubilee Housing works collaboratively with other non-profits that offer job training, childcare and medical care to residents. In this way the organization strives to follow Reverend Gordon Cosby's vision of a holistic, supporting community in which the under-served can achieve stability and financial self-sufficiency.
