The Maxwell School of Syracuse University is the recognized leader in professionally oriented graduate education in the fields of public administration, policy and international affairs, Our school offers three professional degrees: the master of public administration; the master of arts in international relations; and the M.P.A./M.A.-I.R., pursued as a joint degree.
And, for midcareer professionals, the Executive Education program offers a master of arts in economics, international relations, political science, or public administration.
Maxwell is the only major school of public and international affairs in the country that places professional training in the context of all the social sciences. P.A. and I.R. exist alongside departments of history, anthropology, sociology, political science, and the like; and alongside major interdisciplinary research units such as the Center for Policy Research and the Moynihan Global Affairs Institute.
