About Us

Founded in 1938, Stern Grove Festival Association (SGFA) is a beloved and iconic Bay Area cultural institution, providing a free ten-week summer concert series in the beautiful outdoor amphitheater at Sigmund Stern Grove. The amphitheater holds 10,000 people and past performers have included artists such as Smokey Robinson, Michael McDonald, Shelia E, Boz Scaggs, Los Lobos, Joan Baez, Aaron Neville, Janelle Monae, Tower of Power, the San Francisco Symphony, and the San Francisco Ballet. Since its inception, over six million people have attended a concert at the Stern Grove Festival.
