  • Mission

Hitting Cancer Below the Belt is a colon health and colorectal cancer prevention nonprofit organization in Virginia. We provide community education, early detection services for uninsured individuals, and supportive services for cancer patients and survivors.

    About Us

The passing of Rich Conklin in January of 2011 led his wife of nearly 20 years to create Hitting Cancer Below the Belt (HCB2). Rich passed due to colorectal cancer at the young age of 43.

Our main awareness and fundraising events include the Boxer Brief 5K run (every June), Teeing Off on Cancer (every September), and the Blue Gene Bash (every November). We are currently seeking volunteers to support colorectal cancer patients, survivors and the general community participating in our annual Boxer Brief 5K run. Please consider joining us in this and other volunteer opportunities!
