Hug It Forward

Hug It Forward is a grass-roots organization that facilitates education and awareness by empowering communities to build “bottle schools”. Bottle schools are schools built using “eco-bricks”: plastic bottles stuffed with inorganic trash. Entire communities come together to build more sustainable educational infrastructure for their future.

Since October 2009 communities have completed 41 successful bottle school projects, at an average cost of $6,500 per classroom. In May 2012 we completed our first project outside Guatemala, in El Salvador.

Our goal is to share the bottle school technology so that anybody anywhere in the world can create their own bottle school, wherever there is a need.
