  • Mission

Our mission is to preserve animal life through sheltering animals in a humane environment, promoting pet adoptions, fostering rescue efforts and inspiring advocacy. We urge responsibility and the importance of spay/neuter of cats and dogs, and provide affordable spay/neuter opportunities to reduce pet overpopulation, thus striving to make Campbell County a low kill community.

    About Us

The FCCA is a nonprofit that manages the Campbell County Animal Shelter in Jacksboro, TN. We began in 2012 as a core group of volunteers determined to improve animal welfare in our rural community. We worked with the county-operated shelter for several years, then in 2015 we signed a contract to take over management and operation of the shelter. A few months later, we also took over animal control services.

Since 2015, we’ve already increased our leave-alive rate by more than 60% through a major program overhaul. We've come a long way, but we know there is still more we could be doing, and our next step is to recruit compassionate volunteers to give our shelter pets all the love they deserve.
