About Us

The Independent Mon News Agency (IMNA) was formed in 1999 by Mon students, youth, and democracy activists originally from Mon State, in the Union of Burma. IMNA covers news about the Mon community in Thailand, the Mon community in Mon State and Burma, and general news about the Burmese nation. In addition to its website, which publishes articles in Mon, Burmese, and English, IMNA publishes video clips, hosts a weekly radio program, and runs other assorted multimedia projects .
