    The West Newton Cinema, an independent movie theater located in West Newton, MA, is a local treasure that has continuously served the residents of Newton and surrounding towns since its opening in 1937. The West Newton Cinema Foundation is in the process of acquiring the cinema to run it as a non-profit to serve as a hub of enjoyment and community, where mainstream, classic, independent, and otherwise unconventional films enrich our lives, expand our horizons, and strengthen our connection to the world.
