Takoda Service Dogs Inc
Mission
To breed, raise and professionally train Service Dogs to be provided at no cost to disabled Military Veterans & First Responders with PTS and other disabilities. Recipients will be trained to work with and care for their Service Dogs.
To educate the public on:
the need for professionally trained Service Dogs.
the laws that apply to Service Dogs and their partners.
how to help Service Dogs do their work.
To advocate for:
national standards for Service Dogs.
military support of Service Dogs as a key therapeutic resource for Military Veterans.
About Us
Takoda service dogs operates three main programs.
1. Hug a Hero- this program brings fully trained facility Service Dogs to local VA hospitals to visit patients
2. Mission to Heel- Places Service Dogs for free with our Nations Hero's Suffering from PTSD, MST or TBI
3. Kennel Program- recruits volunteers to help with the daily tasks of kennel management, this includes, walking grooming and cleaning of the dogs and kennels
