Boys & Girls Club of Harlem
- New York
425 West 144th Street
The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem is to provide access and opportunities for youth to reach their full potential as responsible members of the community.
At the Club we help young people, regardless of their background, develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders. The theory of change is to offer youth what they most want and need: adults who respect and listen to then; a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves; and interesting, constructive activities that channel youthful energy into challenging pursuits. The theory of action is represented by the Club serving youth ages 6 – 18, with an emphasis on academic support and enrichment, character and leadership development, and career exploration and job readiness as part of our Youth Leadership Academies.
