LITTLE BROTHERS FRIENDS OF THE ELDERLY UPPER MICHIGAN FOUNDATION

  • Mission

Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) is a national network of non-profit, volunteer based organizations committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly. We offer to people of good will the opportunity to join the elderly in friendship and celebration of life.

    About Us

We have several programs which we offer our elders. The first and the basis of our organization is our Friendly Visiting Program. It is the heart of Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly. Through this program, we ask volunteers to make a commitment to visit the elderly friend they are paired with on a regular basis. Your visits may include running errands, taking walks, sharing coffee, and reminiscing.

Each relationship is different and so is the amount of contact and activities shared by the parties involved. We merely ask you to commit to visit your elderly friend at least twice a month.

Another activity that we offer is Celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter with our dinners for the Elderly. We host Holiday dinners where the elderly can come for food and fellowship. We need help with preparation, serving, and clean up along with delivering meals to those elderly who cannot attend.

All of these activities are truly a gift to our elderly but also to our volunteers. We can learn so much and gain so much enjoyment out of the stories and lessons they have to share with us. Please consider donating your time to our cause.
