Piedmont CASA, Inc. - Barrow, Banks and Jackson Co.

  • Mission

To provide abused and neglected children in the Foster Care system of Banks, Barrow and Jackson counties in GA with certified volunteers to advocate for their best interests and be their voice in Juvenile Court.

    About Us

Piedmont CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Volunteers are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in inappropriate group or foster homes. Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives.

We offer training and support to all of our volunteers. Training is required and it is a six week commitment. We meet in person once a week for six weeks (usually a Thursday evening from 6-9pm). There is also an online component to the training that requires to you walk through online learning modules ahead of each in person class. The online modules take about 2-3 hours and can be completed at your leisure, as long as they are finished before each in person class.
