  • Mission

Profound Ladies diversifies the teaching workforce by recruiting and developing BIPOC women educators. We equip BIPOC educators with mentorship, training, leadership, and career development pathways to support them throughout their careers, aiming to retain teachers and maintain diversity in educational leadership, schools, and communities.

    About Us

Profound Ladies was founded in April 2020 by Keiyonna Dubashi. The idea for Profound Ladies was inspired by Keiyonna work with the DRIVE Task Force led by North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, which focused on increasing diversity in the educator workforce. Profound Ladies began with 25 members, providing mentorship, training, and leadership development for BIPOC women educators.

As the organization grew, they expanded from virtual convenings to in-person events, emphasizing wellness and healing during the pandemic. By 2024, Profound Ladies membership had grown to nearly 250 BIPOC women educators , reflecting their significant impact and outreach.
