    The University of Prince Edward Island, with funding from the Canadian Government's Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development, and collaboration with the Williche Council of Chiefs of Chiloé, Chile, have created and are implementing: Wekimun: a school for and with Indigenous youth and communities. Wekimun, in the Indigenous language of Mapudungun, means the integration of traditional knowledge with new knowledge. This project aims to create a better quality of life for the Williche youth and their communities by strengthening their culture through education that is faithful to the spirit of Wekimun.
